BG's were popping!

Found a spot sheltered from the wind and the BG's were feeding on the hatch.  Caught 10+ using a 2wt fly rod and an assortment of flies and nymphs....like most BG's...they weren't too picky about what they ate.  2wt rod was like fishing with a wire clothes hanger....what a blast.  Also had a nice bass, but it spit the fly....grrrr...

Took this guys picture, but the rest were more fun than photo ready :-)

Best regards,

Fishfry

Re: BG's were popping!

I should hurry up and learn to fly fish. Sounds like I can get a lot of practice catching fish on the fly here tongue

Together we'll fight the long defeat.

Re: BG's were popping!

Yes, fly fishing beats most...it can be frustrating and the catch rate tends to be lower.  However, if you like the challenge, can put up with the frustration of dealing with long leaders and wind knots....its a blast.  Even the smallest bass on a 2wt fights like a champ!
