On Saturday, the area got hammered with rain...up to 10" in some places. That caused for Rob's Sunday trip to get canceled as the overflow from the canals dirtied up the waters. It also caused concern for our trip as we were going to fish the Loxahatchee River (north fork) system.
But...we were exited to go!
Nice boat!
The amazing part is that this boat in the picture is one of the smaller center consoles we saw. Many had 3 and 4 engines!
We started searching....
....and soon, B-Rae was hooked up! You have to fight 'em to make sure you pull them away from the structure.
Not a bad way to take the skunk off!
Then...I got hooked up. It was either a giant snook or a big jack but when he took us for a ride, we knew it was the jack!
What a rush!
Rob then got his skunk off.....
Another jack!
And more snook!
Look down!!
Nice area too!
Time was getting away from us as I had to catch a plane...but drive 86 miles to get Debbie, shower and get to the airport. That's another story.....but we made it just in time. I think I was hoping to miss the flight though......
So we started throwing top water. I got slammed and we got some cool pics and video. That will come later as the fish got off while we were filming, and we did a lot of it. B-Rae says...that as even bigger than the one you caught. Now he tells me...I would have tried to land it!
Then Rob got slammed!
Now we only have minutes so I tell B-Rae to hit a pocket...his last cast! He gets a HUGE blowup but somehow the fish misses the hooks and does not come back to try again. It was almost a cool thing but we will just have to remember the blowup. Not a bad way to end the day.
If you are in Jupiter, go out with Capt. Craig. You will not regret it!
It's cold outside.....

Greg- that 1st one was a big angry jack!
I just heard from Rob and B-Rae and they are catching peacocks in the canals in Miami..... they will report out when they get back.

Even without the fish, I'm jealous...sunshine, warmth, no ice or snow. And to think up here we may get as much as 10" of snow tomorrow!

Ha! It was like that. As soon as we stepped on the boat, I said "we win...victory is ours!"....as it was a beautiful day. Bring it on!
We we're disappointed (well, just slightly) that we couldn't target tarpon due to me having to get on a plan and the water quality. But there is always next time!
