C'mon...someone had to have gone fishing this weekend!!

Okay, recovering from the flu....and a prolonged absence from fishing....didn't anyone get out this weekend and hit the lakes?

Best regards,

Just fished B&C. Mostly ice. Only one patch of open water on each. Skunked sad I'm still trying to figure out how to read the bottom with a jig.

Re: C'mon...someone had to have gone fishing this weekend!!

Thanks guys....glad to know there is life out there.

For Firemunkee....when learning the bottom bump....I find a fairly stiff rod with tip flex works the best for me...I don't get the feel for the bottom from a full or mid-flex rod.  Also, I practice in my yard with my eyes shut using a fairly heavy weight (no hooks!!)...you get used to feeling how it goes across the driveway, asphalt, and grass (just make sure you open your eyes when you cast...sucks to put the weight into a car or a window or someone walking their dog).  Finally, start at a spot at the lake where you know what is on the bottom....removes some of the guess work.

Best of luck...look forward to seeing you out there...right after the Tamiflu kicks in.

Thanks for the tips Fishfry! I like the practice idea. Now I gotta find a spot at a lake where I know what is on bottom. I guess I can start with the Pavilion shallows where there are rocks. Other than that I have no idea what the bottom of any of the lakes look like roll
