Costa Rica

I didn't go on this trip, but my Bro-In-Law (Roy) did.  The pics were too good not to share with all of you.  There are about 100 more amazing pics, but these should capture the trip for you all.

Roy and several friends went down to Costa Rica to fish for a week on Roy's friend's boat the HOOK.  The friend is a world renowned brain surgeon.  He keeps this boat in Costa Rica with a full time Captain.  Flies down whenever he wants to go fishing.  NICE LIFE!!  But I gotta respect the guy is a top notch surgeon and must really work his butt off.  Probably the most beautiful boat I have ever seen.  It is a 58 Merritt.  Roy thought about replacing his current boat with this one, but realized he could never keep it in as pristine condition as this guy does and it would be a sin to let all that teak weather.  In total I think they caught about 30 Marlin and a bunch of Sailfish over 5 days of fishing.  I will let this sampling of pics speak for themselves:

Re: Costa Rica

Roy bought a new camera that takes amazing pics.  Can take 7 pics a second.  So, it is easy to pick the perfect pic out of 2-3 second bursts (21 pictures total).  I think the camera is 24 Megapixels.

I was about to ask about the camera! Seems like a full frame dslr...any idea what kind of camera and lens?

Re: Costa Rica

It is a Canon E70 with a Canon 80-200 autofocus lense.  Roy says he is thrilled with the camera.  It takes great pics and he has no clue how to actually use it correctly.  Basically I think he got those pics Point-and-Shoot.  But the outfit cost about $2K.
