Tyler, Eric and I went back to the Shenandoah for the 2nd week in a row. After Tyler caught that citation last week, I think he is figuring there are even bigger fish to be had there. Got on the water about 8pm and quickly caught a little dink on topwater.
Tyler started catching as well. I was fishing with 3 rods with a Super Spook Jr, white/black spinnerbait, and a green/chartreuse tube. I wasn't getting too many strikes until I pulled over and switched to a white/chartreuse spinnerbait. Then it was game on for a while. First cast caught an 11 incher and then next cast caught this nice 18 incher (he doesn't look that big in the pics, his tail is curled in both pics, but I measured him against my rod and then checked the length using Tyler's trough).
The rest of the day we caught fish, but not a ton. Towards the end of the run, Tyler realized I still had the biggest fish of the day, so he cast a green/blue flek tube to an unremarkable area of water and caught this 18 incher. I can't figure out how he can do this ALL THE TIME! Drives me nuts.
It was a beautiful day. Not too hot, not much wind, the water was great, blue skies and picture perfect scenery. An awesome way to spend a Saturday!!
