I ventured to Point Lookout to find some croaker for my gmother in law. She is always asking why i dont keep the fish i catch, its because its usually bass I fished the pier today from 1000-1700 and I got the skunk treatment I was using squid and nightcrawlers. There was only one group really catching anything, maybe 1-2 fish per hour. They caught croakers around 12", one around 16", few spot, and two skates. The other groups I saw less than a handful of croaker caught. I'm bummed I drove all that way, paid to get in and for bait, and got nothing to bring home. But that's how fishing goes. It was my first time there so I did enjoy the park and scenery at least...
On the way I was itching to get some pullage so I stopped by Jonas Point Park in Alexandria for a reliable catch. In 30 minutes I caught two blue cats and one white perch. The larger cat was 18" and put up a decent fight, much more than the 28"er I caught last time I was there. Glad I got something.
Tight lines y'all
