Beaverdam today

Went for a hike behind the ball fields.  Lake looks great... Full to the brim.
Threw a few different baits... Lipless, crankbait, jig and no takers.  Started launching a big 5" swimbait around and whacked a nice 3lb fish right away in fairly shallow water.  Ended up getting one more on my way back to the car (2lbr).. also shallow.  Also no ticks...... yet

It's good to be home

Re: Beaverdam today

Nice job! I always wondered if you could get to the water from the fields. Though your mention of ticks might keep me away...

Together we'll fight the long defeat.

Re: Beaverdam today

Yeah I never tried it before but behind the back right centerfield fence was pretty easy.  Those ticks can be bad if you are walking off the trails at all which is almost unavoidable in areas.  I always tuck pants into socks and shirt into pants to slow the crawl.

I also found two deer carcasses about a 1/4 mile from each other.  Anyone know what is most likely killing these deer?  Coyotes?  Bear?  Mountain Lion?
