A couple of weeks ago I took the boat out for the first few trips of 2014 down in NC. Motor fired right up which is always a good thing after being put away for 4-5 months. Moved around a bit and tried the shallows, points, deep holes, and finished jigging the bridge pilons. Threw a variety of smaller gulp & saltwater assassins, popping cork rig, etc....  no takers.

Took my daughters out the following weekend and it was blowing its head off. Changed up the game plan and tucked in behind a bank to get out of the wind. My girls tossed out some dropper rigs with fresh shrimp and soon after were pulling on White Catfish with their new pink rods that Santa brought them. Not the target species but good fun, and we kept one for dinner.... Smothered in House Autry, it didn't kill anyone. Hard to clean them though so those will be going back in the "drink" from now on

Looking forward to a few more weeks of warmer weather and the trout and drum should make a showing (I know they are already catching them closer to the inlet).
