2-23 piglet + pic

Hit one of the lakes around noon with a jerk bait.  Caught an  11" dink right off the bat.  About 15 minutes later I thought I was hung on the bottom.............until it pulled back.  Nice fight with a little drag peeled off.  She had the entire 5" bait deep in her mouth.  One gill got a hook, but not too bad.  Measured just over 18" and weighed 3 lb 9 oz...........breaking that pond's bass record by 9 oz.   Not bad for a pond that was never stocked by the HOA.  Feb skunk is now off my back big_smile .

I hope we don't have someone playing games again...

John- a couple of years ago we had someone get in and delete stuff.

Curly- did you edit your original post?

Thanks for the encouragement! I was about to try a jerkbait I picked up in the fall, but I'll stick to it!

I deleted the original thread because I had the name of the lake in the title and could not edit it out.  I reposted the thread without the name of the lake to keep the lurkers at bay.

Sorry for the confusion tongue

I was over there that day-i cant figure out how u fished thru all of the slime pods that were hovering like giant jellyfish.
And yes, there seem to be a few good ones roaming around in there

Slime pods were nothing compared to the algae that will be in there in April............that is if it ever warms up tongue .

Yes munkee-plenty in the pavilion too. Dead algae and vegetatuon, maybe the ice cover this year had some.role in theway it sinks, coagulates, then releases like dinner plates when the light resumes as the ice melts
