Headed to Algonkian today with just the fly rod in hand. Walked up past the cabins and waded in. I was throwing a popper and letting it float by the edge of the grass/water weeds. Only got a few smallies, biggest may have been about 12". Ton of bluegills. They were all over the popper. Had an osprey watching me for a while from a tree branch. I turned my back on him to cast over to a ledge and heard and splash behind me and he was trying to pull out this huge carp. Finally managed to get airborne and landed on the island and I lost sight of him. Great day to be out. Nice and quite, good sunshine, and nice cool fresh fall air.
