Curly and I were on the water at 0 dark 30 and motored up to the zone. One of the bad things about fishing the high tide in a no wake zone is that you want to get to the top and float down and that takes precious time of the golden hours.
Regardless, we hit a very familiar pristine creek where only skinny boats get up to. We made the boat skinny thanks to a higher than normal high tide.
We did not get any hits initially and I was worried that it was going to be a repeat of Sunday night but no worries, Curly took care of that issue!
And a few minutes later, I scored!
We continued to pound the pads and grass as what we were after were snakies!
Curly's mouse was hot!
As we drifted out, Curly used a small buzzbait to nail another one for a toatl of 5 and around 10-11 lbs. Not a bad morning. Plus we got to see my old friend Robert dozier fishing with his cousin Scott. We chatted for a bit but time was awaiting so we moved on. This is the 3rd time I have run into Robert in this area. He does fish it often.
We believe that we had one snakie hit my lure but I only made contact for a split second. I did have several other blowups as did Curly. Enough action to keep us in the game.
We then went upstream but is was slooooow. It was like they shutdown after 9 am or so. But we kept trying (95% top water) and finally called it a day around 11:15.
Great day on the water and home by 1:30!

I like the last pic with the mouse peeking out of the bass' mouth.
