When you are on the water and get greeted by this...it just doesn't get any better....even if I had to get up at 2:45 AM!

John, Bob and I joined Capt. Brady to hunt down specks and reds over on the other side. We put in at Buzz's Marina in ride (long way from Ashburn) and headed over towards Smith Island (long way from Buzz's).

This is what we were fishing....

Only trouble was that the water was not clear and the current was not moving like we would like.

We struggled for a long time until I finally connected...

Then Bob got his skunk off....

John stuck with the long pole and was not getting bit.

Capt. Brady moved us to many spots, here are a couple....

Bob and I had caught 4-5 each and time was getting short so Capt. Brady gave us a quick tour before we hit the final 2-3 spots.

Then we went to another cut and we all connected...even a triple!

John got his game on too!

Re: 8-2-13 out of Buzz's Marina

Was a great day to be on the bay. I don't know how you do it. You get home and post a report, I get home and fall asleep. Even though we didn't find what we were after the stripers were fun. I got to see a lot of the sights I've always wanted to see and I realized that for much of the day I had no clue where I was. Each island looked like the last. Once the sun got high the NW breeze was the only way to tell which side of an island you were fishing. When we finally got to Smith Island where there was a little civilization you could tell what was important out there. You'd see a nice looking work boat tied to a nice pier, but on land, many of the houses were falling down.
It was a nice day for crossing the island tour off my bucket list, thanks for the invitation to tag along.
