NJ and OC, MD

Two weekends ago I headed up to NJ to do some racing.  But first I met up with one of my Kayakwars teammates in Pt Pleasant Beach at 5am on Friday.  He caught a few small stripers and I caught one with a skitterwalk he let me use. I ended up getting one of my own at Walmart later in the day.  Then we tried for tog under the railroad bridge.  Nothing.  So then we moved on to drifting for flounder.  All got were smaller ones and this one this came up just a little short.

I caught a sea robin too.

Later in the weekend I tried the Maurice River south of Millville.  Got one 20" striper.

Last weekend I heading out to Ocean City.  I fished the Rt50 bridge area and to the north of it a few days.  The Rt90 bridge another and the bridge to Assateague on Sunday. I caught a bunch of small flounder.  Lots of tails bitten off my gulp mullets too.  Eventually I added a trailing treble hook to them and that showed the tail nippers to be mostly croakers.  At the Assateague bridge a NRP cop pulled up and asked if I had caught anything and mentioned that I was in a good spot.  It was the deepest part of the stretch along the bridge, the far east side.  He never asked for a license or anything.  Later, away from the bridge I caught a juvenile black sea bass.  Snagged a horseshoe crab one day.

On the way home Tuesday I stopped at Jone Pt hoping to score some points with blue cats. In a few hours I caught six or so but none were 20" or more, though I did have some bigger ones come undone.

Nice job. Looks like there is plenty of room in your kayak. I bookmarked the Wavewalk link when you originally posted it - from the photos on the site they look like they are stable and plenty versatile.

No problem standing or even paddling in chop.  One time at Jones Pt it was choppy to the point there is no way I would've been out there in my sit in.  No problem for the wavewalk.  I had a lot of chop to deal with in NJ too, even had one break over the side a little bit.  Didn't take on much water though and I can easily shift weight around so water will end up at the back end so my gear isn't sitting in water the rest of the time.
