Like last week, we wanted to run across the bay for stripers. On the water at 0700 after refueling at the dock.
The weatherman was threatening rain but it was a spectacular day!
We stopped at the end of the jetty and quickly connected....
OK...boat skunk off for Mo and me but Jeff still needed to catch a fish.
So we ran over to the other side...the bay was flat calm. I was running 32-34mph. Nice!
When we got there...so was the fleet!
We hung around to see what was going on but what we say was small fish....all on live line. Not for me.
We went around Poplar but we only managed one smallish striper so we decided to head back and wail away on the perch. Which we did!
Here is Jeff's 1st white perch (he is from Ft. Worth TX).
And another....
He got the hand of it and caught his fair share.
Mo wanted some perch but said only if over 10"! We obliged but kept a few that were close! We hammered our usual holses and then some.
This is a cool plane that has landed on the water at times....
'
...he was waving to us. Very cool.
We went back to the jetty which has not been doing well lately and we managed some big perch. Mo caught the biggest at 11". Np pic.
He also caught a croaker.
We had no trolling motor...seems like my batteries are kaput. Two weeks ago, I left an aerator running for a week. Looks like time for 2 trolling batteries. Despite that, since there was no wind to speak of., we managed some nice drifts.
Great day on the water!

Glad you got some perch for Mo, you had a good day for it. Hope the weather holds one more day, meeting Michael and his dad in the morning. I'll call you if we snag your anchor.
