Beaverdam Creek Reservoir

I would like to let the members of this board know that there is some great fishing to be had at the reservoir as of late if you didn't already know... i haven't been catching numbers but out of the 6 bass i caught in 3 days, 4 were over 2lbs. with the biggest being 3.5lbs... my friend also caught a 4.5lbr in the same spot i caught the 3.5lbr the day before... i did a lot of fishing here last year and i learned a lot about the lake structure and made good use of my handheld garmin when the water was low

i will be moving to CO this summer so i would like to offer up info before i leave in july

if anyone is interested in meeting up with me to go fish there, i would be happy to take them to some of my favorite spots

also caught several smallies there in the fall... biggest was 2lbs. and a friend got one closer to 3lbs.

Re: Beaverdam Creek Reservoir

I am definately interested in fishing Beaverdam again, it's been over 15 years since I have been there. I think Jeff and Curly hit it one day not too long ago. We'll have to get a few folks out there. I would love to splash the kayak.

Ya, I have a row boat and a pirogue.  I just finished building the pirogue(I designed it).  For those who do not know, a pirogue is a flat bottom canoe/

Re: Beaverdam Creek Reservoir

Have fished off the banks or in my kayak, w an angling rod and a fly rod.   Never have done well, and even lost a prized pair of sunglasses off my kayak.

My bad luck has to end so count me in.  I want to catch a big one wearing my shades !

Re: Beaverdam Creek Reservoir

well... again another succesful day... i landed 3 fish... two were about 2 lbs. and one was about 3.5 lbs.    Had to leave after an hour and my buddy was down 3-0 but i soon got a call as he managed to land 6 fish between 2-4 lbs. fishing the same pattern i had figured out earlier... we did quite a bit of walking to fish a few select areas and they all produced.    There is about to be some amazing fishing there.

I would say that overall the banks are not very muddy... most of the flats are under water leaving more rocky or steeper bank structure to walk on except where the creeks run in

I will have to get some of these pics up soon

Re: Beaverdam Creek Reservoir

another successful outing... lost a couple of 3lbrs. on short strikes to a spook and a crank... managed to catch two fish on a spinnerbait... and found a big striper dead on the bank... didn't look like it had been caught but no way to really tell... it's good to know that they still exist here... thought i saw a 8" striper back in feb. but i convinced myself it was some type of perch... maybe not... how great if they actually spawned some offspring

beaverdam is currently my favorite place to fish locally (non-river)
