I can't decide what places to fish this weekend. The rivers are still pretty high. Goose Creek has come down enough but it's still muddy. Lower Potomac will be loaded with tournament boats. I'm considering the back of Pohick for at least one day. Occoquan Res one day maybe? I've never been there.
Not real sure if I want to make run to some saltwater. I don't want to end up fighting higher than forecasted winds.

Very true today, every boat that cut me off had out-of state reg numbers. One A***** left a dock I was fishing @ WOT (???).
HIGHLY recommend back of Pohick around the tide changes, past the split tossing t-rigged plastics @ wood cover. Pics are from Pomonkey this morning, but same pattern, similar results @ Pohick yesterday.

Anyone want to head to Pohick tomorrow? I'm torn as to whether I should be there for around low tide or high tide.

I fished Pohick today. Caught loads of bass with several 16-17". Lost a few more good ones that dove under a big root system. Drag was too loose to pull them away from it before they got under it. I caught more when the tide was out. Saw loads of snakeheads. I would throw a frog to an area where I know they are with no result. Then as I paddled through the same area there would be a snakehead explosion under me. I was able to get right up on a few. I really need to get a gig for the next time I go there. Tossing a bait right in front of them just makes them take off.

Mike- I can't stand these grand standers. I had a guy tell me, "hey, we are fishing a tournament" when we were at Blue Plains earlier this year. Maybe he didn't realize the water is public and that everyone knows that Blue Plains is a tight fit. I just looked at him and continued fishing.
Nice job on the LMB!!

Trouble is I have no answer as to what to do about it. I miss Gene Mueller's voice on this topic, and if he could not get the relevant authorities to listen, nothing I say is going to matter. I think local fishing txs or derbies are great (I loved fishing the NHBA weekdays), but these large txs and prizes bring out the worst in some. I admit I've come close to entering these BFL or Everstarts as a co-angler, but I'll pass. Here's a link to this past weekends results from ALL 137 BOATS (!!!): http://www.flwoutdoors.com/bassfishing/ … mp;sort=pl
I did have a humorous and pleasant conversation with one of the FLW dudes, he was courteous and amiable. Pretty sure it was this guy, as the name on the back of his jersey was "Cooke" http://www.flwoutdoors.com/community/pr … ?uid=29120 The other Cooke listed above does not look like the guy I talked to.
Here is one way (posting identifying info on a public forum) to deal with these sorts of problems: http://www.bbcboards.net/potomac-bass-c … today.html

Bryan Schmitt won again? Impressive. He also is a Charter Capt. on the Loosen Up out of Deale.
