Bass Bite on Alder and Beech

Between 14-16 bass between the two lakes around noon, and one nice crappie from Alder.

Plenty of wind and some downpours, but some nice spring fishing with a jighead tail, and minnow spinner.

Re: Bass Bite on Alder and Beech

Sorry for the late response.   But to answer question on bait, 3/16th black jig head w yellow eyes on a 3" inch Berkely green tail has been working.

Also a Fox spinner minnow that I got for smallie fishing on the Potomac rivulets in Great Falls has been working also.  Unfortunately, the treble hooks were beating up the fish a little too much so I blunted the barbs w my pliers.

What are you having success with??

I use bloodworms, but they don't work too well

Re: Bass Bite on Alder and Beech

The small suspending rapala (about 2") works great for crappie. I cast out and count to 5 and begin jerking it lightly so it acts like a dying minnow and I get alot of hits from Crappie.
