Finally got back to FL!!
On Friday, I booked Capt. Craig Korczynski to do some bass fishing in Lake Clarke and some of the local canals. Craig has a very nice bay boat which he uses to Light Tackle Inshore Fish out of Jupiter.

But since I was alone that day, I talked him into doing some fresh water bass fishing. The 1st thing we looked for was the world's greatest fisherman...
....but he was not on them so we moved on.
After a bit, I caught one....not big but skunk off!
I caught a couple of more but the bite was slow so I asked Craig to join me so we could try different things as we explored. He got bit!
Now we were catching them....not big but steady pullage.
We used only a few baits all day....
As we came up on a point, there was some grass and some cover so I tossed by bait shallow and a submarine came after it! Craig and I saw him smack the lure and then bite it....a nice fight was on as we were using very light tackle!
Craig got some nice GoPro footage that I will link up here when he sends it to me. We guesstimated this guy at 4lbs.
Some scenery....
This lake goes on forever, interconnected by canals. I will definitely explore more of it on future trips.
When we were trying to see if we could jig some up in the middle (deeper) part of the lake, we saw this:
Not sure what the deal was but we wanted to take it down....
We continued fishing, even past our allotted time as we both were having a nice time searching and catching.
Capt. Craig is the type of guide I like to fish with. I was glad I found him and look forward to many more trips in the future, both in salt and fresh water!

Mmmm...I like some Florida fishing pics this time of year.
Do you have a chance for snakeheads there?

Too far north and east for snakeheads....we were fishing right next to West Palm Beach airport.

Same as above, Peacocks were killed off up there in 2010. There are a few here and there but not worth targeting. I always go after Peacocks with a fly and it was just too windy to even try much less try to even find them on a 1/2 day trip.
