1-31...........COLD

70 degrees yesterday and could not get time to fish.  35 degrees when I got off work today and hit Alder on the way home.  Only two dinks.  Water is high and muddy.  Both fish were holding in brush next to shore.

Re: 1-31...........COLD

Curly- What do you think water temp is like in the ponds right now? I am not too familiar with the Ashburn ponds, but do you think one is warmer than the other for any particular reason? Interesting to me that fish are holding to shore, even though the shallow water warms up quicker, I wouldn't think the one day would be enough to bring them up yet. Just wondering . . .

Re: 1-31...........COLD

Water temps are less than 40 degrees in all the ponds.  Those 2 fish were holding next to areas with submerged brush that had a lot of current going by from the rains.  Smaller fish seem to tend to do that in cold water.  The big girls are still sitting on the bottom deep, not moving for anything.............they will start moving "a little" when the water temps get above 45.
