What day is it report

Ideal conditions for Potomac Pike allowed two to be captured. Many where missed and those pesky LGMouth just kept getting caught. Also got a nice cat and a white perch on topwater. Great trip with no rain at all.

Re: What day is it report

We met mike at the ramp and he was ready to go.....

....but not without the customary ribs and chicken. Sorry no picture as we were too busy devouring the feast. The ribs are amazing.

We headed up stream and it did not take Paul long to get hooked up.....

....his 1st fish since last September. What?

The next sequence was cool. We are in the pads and I hear the Capt. yell, "Don't do anything, stop". I looked over and no more than 6' from the boat, Paul stops reeling in his frog and a shakie explodes on it. In plain view of our sight!

Paul's 1st snakehead!

There was supposed to be a storm coming and as Mike said, we never got a drop.....

We caught some more incidental fish....

A little tubby!

And then.....

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/Kiko13PB/New%20Kiko/014-11.jpg

....snakie #2 for Paul.

Knowing what he just went through with the fire at his house, it was very gratifying to see this fishing machine at work. He had a great night!

Now it's dark and we are catching them on top water plugs as well as with frogs (which we threw the whole time).

A violent strike next got us exited...

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/Kiko13PB/New%20Kiko/016-9.jpg

...as this nice channel cat inhaled Paul's offering.

They can smash a lure for sure.

I was throwing at the edges of the pads (blindly I may add as I could not see anything) and I got a hit from a familiar foe...

http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/Kiko13PB/New%20Kiko/019-9.jpg

...on top water? cool

Another great night with Capt. Mike! Lots of fish and all we threw was top-water!

Re: What day is it report

Great report including the little dig at the end aimed at the "tartar king"  I fished the creek yesterday as well from 0530 till 1300. Still no SH but managed to land 3 bass and 6 blue cats. Drizzled at the start and stayed cloudy till 11, then I baked. No chix n ribs, but most of us met up at Grinder's seafood for a 2 PM lunch and some air conditioning. Great day all around.

Was John Veil with you?

And where is Grinder's?

John was part of the group, we sat together at lunch. Grinder's is about a mile before Indianhead on the left side heading down 210. We had the lot filled with yaks

Thanks Ernie for setting up the trip and Mike for putting us on the fish. That truly is an amazing fishery and unlike anything I've ever fished before.
