Lower Potomac River, 6-29-12

Today, John Nguyen and I fished with Capt. Brady Bounds and we went out of Piney Point....

It was going to be hot but we were prepared.

John took the skunk off with this little guy....

It was a gorgeous morning and both of us were glad to be out of the office!

This is a trip that I have wanted to take for a long time....it was an incredible learning experience and we got to see many great fishing areas. We got into some nice white perch that were taking bigger hooks than normal!

John even showed us his finesse with this guy....

But he kept hammering them on the fly....

I fished about 40% fly and 60% baitcater, using a jig tied by out Capt.

Lots of history and scenic areas....

At one point, the Capt. brought us to an area and just stopped. I looked at the shore and spotted a creek so I thought we were going there. Nope, we are fishing right here.
Four casts and 4 fish for me!

The guide boat for today.....

The one bad thing was that we never saw any birds or breaking fish.

The good thing is that we found fish in most of our stops and we caught a lot of fish. Plus....we had a great time!

To cap it off, we made a stop at T & J BBQ near LaPalta...good stuff!

Ha! We actually said that when I went over to his house. My shirt was a bit brighter, his more subdued.
