Finally....after SIX attempts....we caught some stripers in Lake Anna!!
Curly and I met our guide, Chris McCotter, at High Point Marina at 0745. I had resolved to cool my fishing of Lake Anna depending on the success of this trip. Chris knew how bad we needed to catch a striper in this lake so immediately, we went to one of his favorite stops. Curly was throwing a jerk bait and I was throwing a swim bait. It did not take too long when Curly got a hit as he paused his retrieve. FISH ON and we think it's a striper!! Sure enough, a keeper was boated! The Lake Anna striper skunk is OFF!!
After a few minutes, I take my striper skunk off by landing this little guy!
We were now more relaxed and we moved on to try to find bigger fish. At one of the stops we made, we were treated to this beautiful setting!!
And then we were treated to watch a Lake Anna veteran with a fish fight on his hands!
It ended up being a nice10 pound channel cat...pretty big for that lake!
As it was getting near quitting time, Curly got slammed and got everyone exited with this 3 lb 5 oz largemouth bass.
All told, we caught 5 stripers, 2 small white perch and the largemouth. Things are looking up at Lake Anna!
