North Fork Shenandoah 4/7/2012

Waded into my usual spot last Saturday afternoon with the intent of throwing lots of plugs.  I did, but this amounted to nothing.  Changing up, I caught a 15" creek chub on a Carolina rigged Gulp hellgrammite.

Air Temp 66F, hatches for at least two different kinds of mayfly on.  Only a few fish jumping to chase them.  Interesting thing I noticed, I always assumed the parking area I used was state property with the standard VDGIF provisions for outdoor recreational use only.  I haven't been there since October, but now there's a very homemade looking sign saying that the landowner wants people parking there to only use the spot for launching boats or catch and release fishing.  I understand this is to drive away the bucket brigade and support it, but I was surprised this was private land.
