Rappahannock River - 03/16/2012

This may become the year of the skunk! http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj320/Kiko13PB/200px-Pepe_Le_Pew-1.png

The crazy weather so far has resulted in an atypical pattern for bait and stripers this year. Our guess is that the stripers never left the river system and spawned out earlier than normal. We located no bait balls, few fish, and garnered no bites in 6 hours of fishing. We trolled lures from 20-50ft with nothing to show for it.

Still a nice day to be on the water, but I wouldn't mind some hook sets!

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Thank you for the report.

FWIW, there are some bronze fish biting in the upper Rapp right now.
