rainbow trout - holmes run 2/27/12

Caught a nice almost 12 inch rainbow today on a texas rigged 4 inch watermelon senko. That is a first for me.

They stock it a couple of times between October and the spring. I was fishing for bass today and definitely did not expect it. It hit like a bass too. I was bouncing it on the bottom and it hit when i was letting it sit.  Very strange behavior for a trout but i will take it. Got to love the senkos.

Nice job.

Got a trout by Brunswick on the Potomac on a grub once.  And further up river had one hit a tube.

Both were lost.
