Khanh sent me his post to report for him. He needs to learn how to post with pics . Here it is:
Went to fish the Ashburn Lakes today and decided to try out the new Bobby Garland minnow baits. I rigged both the "electric chicken" and "sparkle shad" colors on my line as two jigs under a slip bobber. I looked for some structure, i.e. spillways, and was nailing many small bass. Most were between 8-14 inches and they were shredding my bait pretty quickly. An hour into fishing, I landed a nice bass and was so afraid it was gonna break the line (I was using 4 pound test) that I stepped into the water to retrieve against the rocks. I was so excited I didnt even feel the cold water. I flagged a young couple down to help take a picture for me. I let their son gently release the bass into the water and the kid was sooo happy to do so. Right after that, I caught a nice fat crappie which fought pretty hard. In about a hour and a half of fishing I caught about 15 bass. I was one of my best days in a long time. I definitely need to get a digital scale soon, now that I am catching bigger fish.
It was a beautiful day out and I hope some of you got some lines wet out there!!

These mnnows work great. I think I'm gonna try them in Occoquan this year for crappie and yellow perch. You will like the electric chicken color. They LOVE it

Curly, thanks for posting for me. I really appreciate it. Promise to figure the upload thing out next time.
I need to buy a digital scale and measuring unit like you have. I never catch anything big so I never thought I needed them but i'm starting to have better luck. I don't think I can compete with you veterans so I may not be in the contest. I will share my results for fun but I am still learning the ropes

All it takes is one good day on the water to have a nice sack of bass . A carpenter's tape measure works very well and fits in your pocket or on your belt!

How long after venturing into the water did you continue to fish? I'm cold and shivering just thinking about it!
I left about half an hour after stepping into the water. The damp, cold sock started to set in after the adrenaline was gone. It was well worth it though!

They have them at the Bailey's Dick's Sporting Goods (I do specifically remember seeing the Milk Monkey color). I had never seen them before but I also thought they might be great for crappie and perch.

Surprisingly, I caught the big bass on the small electric chicken minnow. I didnt think the bigger fish would even mess with the small baits
