Carp - Four Mile Run

So I have spent about 1 hour and 45 minutes fighting carp that have either jumped and spit the hook, snapped my off or decided to spit the hook two or three feet from shore. But today I landed my first carp, but I am not sure if I can count it because it was foul hooked in the tail. It was a really beautiful fish probably about 15 lbs maybe a little more. I can not believe anyone could think of carp as a"trash fish".

taste one...then you'll understand the "trash fish" moniker.

But you're right, they put up a HECK of a fight.  Pound for pound the toughest freshwater fish I've hooked into.

Loaded with them there....but not easy to catch. Some of the fly guys have it figured out.

Re: Carp - Four Mile Run

I have hooked into 7 or 8 over the last three times there.  No exageration they are evrywhere. I was using a maribu jig let it hit the bottom then drag it a bit let it sit then drag. I have never fished for carp before I may be addicted now.
