The Northern Virginia CCA Chapter is pleased to invite you to our Twelfth Annual Dinner and Auction taking place on Saturday, March 3rd, 2012 at 6:00 pm. This year’s event will be at The Shriners Kena Temple in Fairfax, VA. We have been working very hard with our donors and supporters in gathering a wide array of Auction items that are sure to impress – We will have over $20,000 of Merchandise.

We are extremely grateful to all of our Supporters and thank them for their part in helping CCA Conserve, Protect, and Restore our marine resources.

This Fundraiser will help our Chapter with many activities this year, including the “Save a Kid – Catch a Fish” trip we host each summer, guest speakers, and our contributions to the State CCA office which leads our conservation efforts.

Our event is an excellent opportunity to meet many fellow conservationists, pick up some very nice Auction items, and have a great time! Several folks are buying full tables and inviting their friends and co-workers for a nice evening out. This year’s event will be catered, featuring Hors D’oeuvres, Dinner, and a Full Bar. We are offering an EARLY BIRD coupon worth $20 off any Auction item for tickets purchased prior to February 25th.

Our Banquet Committee Members will be happy to help you obtain tickets ($50) and answer questions.

This just in...Shawn Kimbro, author of Chesapeake Light Tackle, will be the headliner for this event.

Along with many guided trips to be auctioned off (Brady Bounds, Sean Crawford, Frank Carver, Mike Starrett etc) this trolling rod (30-50lb class) was donated by Joe Oronato of J & J Sports Service and will be in the Live auction

If you have never gone to one of these events, why not give it a shot. It has been my hope to have a "Pacemaker Fishing" table.....

You don't need to drop a bundle to get in some of the action. The auction items (bucket, silent and live) are outstanding.

New info:

1. We are pleased to feature Shawn Kimbro as our guest speaker. Shawn is the author of Chesapeake Light Tackle – An Introduction to Light Tackle Fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. Shawn is an excellent speaker and committed to Conservation of our resources - we look forward to having him at our event.

2. We will have a very large raffle with an L.L.BEAN Kayak, an HDTV, and a YETI Cooler as the featured prizes –and 35+ additional raffle prizes - plus a cash drawing!

3. We will have a fantastic assortment of over 35 Silent Auction Items – Fishing gear, Jewelry, cigars, baseball stuff (autographed Mark McGuire ball etc), custom Fly collections, Trolling lures, Dinner Certificates, Golf packages, and more!

4. The Live Auction will feature many of the Donated Fishing trips....

5. Bucket items- Forty different items. You buy a book of tickets for $30 (2 for $50, 5 for $100) and drop stubbs into the bag. Everyone has a chance to win!

6. Several of the Charter Captains and Guides attend our event each year – this is an excellent opportunity to interact with them and get to know some of the experts.

I talked to Tom W. today - he is working on obtaining a shotgun for a special raffle that night - not my thing - but several folks are into them.. also that Custom knife that Dave G. donated will get some attention - one of a kind for sure.
