Stripers

Hello all!

Anyone know how long the Striped Bass stay around these parts? Specifically the occoquan and Tidal Potomac. Thanks!

Re: Stripers

They are here until the water temps drop to 45-48 degrees.............which happened a couple of weeks ago.  You may be able to find a few left near warm water discharges, but the majority of them are gone until next spring.  I caught my last one 3 weeks ago and then they disappeared from my usual spots in DC Waters the next week.

Re: Stripers

There were a few caught at Occoquan this weekend....not sure of the size. They are also at Gravelly (outgoing usually) and most likely at the Alexandria power plant like Curly said.

Time to go fishin' again!

Re: Stripers

We caught a few at the end of last week.  Size was anywhere from about 12" - 18".  While we caught a ton of fish of other species, I'd say the stripers were not numerous enough to truly be targeted.  My buddy and I caught them while cranking for LMB.
