The Targa gets pushed again.....8-6-11 report!

Kent and I put in at Spa Creek....

....so I could show him some of the sights of Annapolis, the Bay Bridge and that part of the  bay. But to do what we were about to do, I had to have the right guy on board. Kent was the right guy...we had a blast....we were like 2 little kids!

Of course, we had rods rigged up for WP, stripers and blues.

We each took the skunk off the boat withing a few minutes of the ramp...at one of Carl's favorite go to places, the outflow pipe right in front of the condos. We headed out to the mouth of the Severn and it was a washing machine but knowing Kent, I had no issues with heading over to the Bay Bridge. We hit a few pilings but it was a pain to hold the boat with the wind (plus we did not see any action that would tell us to stay) so we decided to head don bay along the Kent Island shore. There are lots of ledges and I wanted to check them out for the 1st time. It was rough (2-3 footers at time) but we were like two little kids on a roller coaster. Yes, he got wet....very wet as did I.

So we went on down to Bloody Point.....

....stopping at a few places to throw but nada. We then headed back over to the western side to Thomas Light and made some drifts where we caught a little blue.

By now the wind was way over what they had foretasted as were the wave heights. No matter, this little boat is one little tough flotation device!!

We went to the rock wall under the towers but the  wind was just playing games with me and I was having no fun trying to hold ground so since Kent was in charge of lunch we took some time to eat....

After that, I decided to head up into Weems Creek. The last time I finished there was with Carl....

We plucked out a few perch here and there, nothing big though.

Time was getting short as we both had dinner plans to we headed back to Spa Creek. We stopped where we began and I told Kent that there were always perch hanging around the pipe so I made a very nice toss into the pipe, rolled it out and got the big one of the day!

We called it quits and marveled at the fact that we had a beautiful day and a great time riding the waves on the bay!! I have seen more of the bay with my smaller boat than I saw with the bigger one. I have pushed her and she has responded admirably!

It's not always about the fishing.....     cool

The curse has been lifted. I am not the sole source of wet rides on the Targa! Hooray! ...sorry you all got wet! lol

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

We pushed the limits on purpose!! Kent had no issues with getting wet since it was warm out and he got refreshed. I am getting better at understanding the bat and avoided many other wet events....
