Airborn Mega Snakehead from Potomac Creek with Rob 7-29

It was a brutal morning of fishing.  On the water by 6:30 and the humidity was kicking our butts already.  For 3 hours..........NADA.  Around 10am we did find some snakeheads, but they would only nip at our baits........must have missed 6 or 8 in one area.  Finally around 10:30 we find a very snakey-lookin area and I toss a topwater bait to it.  Get a swirl.........let the frog sit.......one little twitch.............and BOOM!  It's a big one and is going nuts!  Get it out of the pads and it goes absolutely airborn at least 5 feet into the air.  It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen a freshwater fish do.  I thought it was going to land in the boat from 4 feet away.  Rob can't believe this fish's acrobatics, but gets the net quickly and we get her in the boat.

29 inches and 9.5 pounds.  Not my biggest, but still a nice fish.........and the only fish we landed today.

Nice job! That had to be fun. I am after one like that!

This week the bass bite has been slow for me. Fishing evenings. Last 1/2 hour before dark it's turned on a bit. Tide related maybe? Started to get action after the tide started running out. Small ones on incoming or slack.

That's incredible, I'm going to have to really think about getting a gaf for the kayak (Or a better pair of lip grips).
