11-11-05 Potomac River (Lower) report

Jim Rekas and  planned to troll to see if we could finally get one this way. It was a sunny, windy (10-15) day with temps at 48-54 degrees. The water was 57.

This trolling is getting frustrating for me!

Now I have gone out five or six times puling tandems, bucktails, umbrellas and I have caught ZERO feeeeeeeeeesh!

Today, I lost three rigs so I know I was down enough (no where near a marked crab pot). I had one fish on and he broke off because it was on a short and light line rod that had NO business being on my boat today. We had 1-2 possible knockdowns. We marked bait all over the place. I went from 14A to 14 to the bell, down south a little, back up, over to Dollies (fish on but lost).

I only tangled once so the spread looked good. Inline weight anywhere from 8-20 oz.

Pulled:
Daisy chain w/ 8 oz inline, 150'
6 pack umbrella with 6 oz bucktail and 9" shad and 8 oz inline, 100'
Tandem (4oz & 6 oz), 75'
4 pack umbrella w/4 oz bucktail and 12 oz inline, 200'
6 oz bucktail w/ 20 oz inline, 65'

I switched a few up and changed speeds but ZERO!!

It still was a great day to be on the water.

We had a blast! Spent the last hour looking for birds and found them but nothing was breaking (yes, I ALWAYS bring a couple of light tackle casting rods).
