Cedar, 5/10, 5/12

Once the sun settled behind the houses, the big dark blue gills came out to play.

Hammered them on a Wal-Mart spider fly......

I had one "attack" a white Chuck Craft fly I use for bass. No way he should have been hooked but he nailed it and took off like a bulldog. Talk about fun on a fly rod.

Re: Cedar, 5/10, 5/12

Today I switched to a dragon fly pattern and the bigger blue gills were really liking the offering....as long as I moved it.

On Tuesday, they liked the spider but  they wanted to see it drown before inhaling it.

Today, they chased the fly which was 1-2" down. The BGs would make a nice wake as they followed it.

The bite was on before the sun went down as well as after.

The top water bite will soon be on....

Ernie has gotten really good at the fly rod over the past 2-3 years.  I still will not get too close to him when he is casting lol
