I fished goose creek for bit yesterday. Managed to catch a few sticks and that was about it. I started upstream from 7 in that "deep" stretch. After the second golf ball went flying right past me I decided I should move down stream instead. Water was cold and moving. A little more than I really liked while walking under the bridges. I threw a rooster tail, helgramite, mr. twisters in various colors and a rapala or two.
I'm starting to think that this section has just about been fishing out. 3-4 years ago it would routinely produce at least one 12-15" smallie every time out and now I'm lucky to catch a smallie. Last summer I would see guys throwing casting nets while walking down the bank and I'll bet they have cleaned just about everything out.
