Shed Hunting

I took the dog out for a walk in a wooded area near the house on saturday morning and found this set.  The dog stopped and was sniffing at something at the base of a branch then I realized that it wasn't a branch but was a shed antler.  Hoping to get lucky and find the other near by, we started doing circles 5 yards apart from that point out and I found the other one about 40 yards away. Once you know what you are looking for they are a little easier to find.  Well not that easy but definitely lucky..

For those who like to keep score, the longest tine is a little over 9 inches and is a 9 pointer. I would like to run into him next year as long as it isn't with my truck or him rutting up the trees in my back yard.

Re: Shed Hunting

Well done
I found a nice set a few years ago. They don't last long on the ground in the woods. They get eaten real fast

Re: Shed Hunting

nice set  I've only ever found a single shed, not a set, and that was in my yard when i lived out in King George.  was going to work one day and noticed something funny in the grass.

now it's yesterday! roll
