Coastal Conservation Association Virginia, Dedicated to the Conservation and Preservation of Virginia’s Coastal Marine Environments

The Northern Virginia CCA Chapter is pleased to invite you to our Eleventh Annual Dinner and Auction taking place on Saturday, March 12th, 2011 at 6:00 pm. This year’s event will be at The Shriners Kena Temple in Fairfax, VA. We have been working very hard with our donors and supporters in gathering a wide array of Auction items that are sure to impress – We have over $20,000 of Merchandise – some of which is listed below.

We are extremely grateful to all of our Supporters and thank them for their part in helping CCA Conserve, Protect, and Restore our marine resources.

This Fundraiser will help our Chapter with many activities this year, including the “Save a Kid – Catch a Fish” trip we host each summer, guest speakers, and our contributions to the State CCA office who leads our conservation efforts.

Our event is an excellent opportunity to meet many fellow conservationists, pick up some very nice Auction items, and have a great time! Several folks are buying full tables and inviting their friends and co-workers for a nice evening out. This year’s event will be catered, featuring Hors D’oeuvres, Dinner, and a Full Bar. We are offering an EARLY BIRD coupon worth $20 off any Auction item for tickets purchased prior to February 28th.

Is limo service to and from the event provided? How about red carpet paparrazi action?!

I do have Limo service but we leave Ashburn early and come back late since I have to work the event but no red carpet....the paparrazi probably won't show at this event.

As long as you play (buy tickets or participate in the auctions) you can win. I did win a couple of Live auctions but that's just a matter of outbidding someone. My Cuban luck ran out on me in the Bucket raffles (which is pure luck)....$20 GC to Coldstone. Oh well.....there were some great prizes and some very happy people. I was high bidder on a couple of Silent Auctions...enjoyed a discounted dinner at Clyde's last night as a result.

The top 3 prizes for the Bucket Raffle were a huge TV, a loaded kayak and a Milwaukee tool set....there were 36 other Bucket prizes plus 41 Silent Auction and 23 Live Auction items.

Ernie -

As we discussed - a very good event - raised money to help CCA conserve and protect the resource.

Many first time attendees were impressed with the line up of items - and most everyone went home with something -

My kids are loving that Red Heritage Kayak that Tara won in the Live Auction - it is sitting in my basement right now - and they were sizing up the foot supports today-

I too got shut out in the raffles - which meant many others went home with stuff - The highlight was the Boyscout who was volunteering his time - and on of our guests had to leave early - so he gave the boyscout his raffle tickets - and he ended up the winner of the Milwaukee Drill set (150.00 item) good karma for the volunteer. He was so excited carrying around that set in its red canvas bag!

Hope we can get a few folks from Pacemaker Nation to attend in 2012 -

Thanks for all of your efforts - a darn good time - now - time to go fishing!!
