One fish can make a day

Started at noon to fish the incoming and like many trips this fall action was non-stop. But when the rod bent over in half I knew we had a big one.

The picture does not do the fish justice.. 45 inches long..

Re: One fish can make a day

I heard the really big catfish have high levels of mercury and other stuff accumulated in their bodyfat so they are not ideal eating fish. I think the small ones, around 5 pounds or so, are better for eating.

Re: One fish can make a day

We got one white cat that went directly in the well. He took home only 7ea  2-4 pound cats for a hot oil bath.

The small ones are excellent eating.. I prefer Tony Chackers and the filet grilled fast on a grill.

Blackened style.

The whole Safeway farmed raised catfish is a subject for another day..this winter
