Riverbend 10-9

I finally got out to Riverbend for the first time.  I fished from 7:30 to noon.   The shaded MD side seemed like it would be the most productive.  I started fishing around Bealls Island.  The first were on a firetiger bitsy minnow.  Once I figured out what type of areas the fish were liking today I started using a pro senko too which was productive.  No takers for a spinnerbait.

This one was 12".

South of the boat ramp but on the MD side I started finding some more.  This one was the biggest yet.

This one swallowed the senko deep and it took some time to get the swivel undone.  I had to leave the hook in.  When I let it go, it took off fine.  But a few minutes later I found it again at the surface.  I worked water through its gills for awhile and let it go again.  This time it was swimming around like it was drunk.  Eventually it surfaced again and I netted it.  I paddled around with it in the net for awhile, eventually reaching the other side of the river.  By now it was moving its pec fins around some but still not to the point of thrashing in the net.  I let it out again and it swam away normally and down into some grass.  I hung around for a little while to see if it surfaced again but it didn't.   So that was good, I was hoping I didn't have to keep it since I don't care for the taste of bass.

Very nice! I've been out there twice, all the ones I've pulled out have been the size of your first picture. The most productive was dead sticking a nose hooked 4" yum dinger.
