Yesterday on the river, Ernie and I could not help but notice how dirty the water looked....even though we haven't had any rain recently. The water looks brackish and we know the salinity levels are way up with blue crabs in DC. The LF gauge this afternoon shows only 486 CFS flow! That's a dribble over the LF dam. I don't ever remember it being that low, even during the past droughts. Each incoming tide brings more salinity up river and it appears to be getting stagnant. We need rain..........
