The Kayak Is Complete!

Well it is ready to fish...I still have a couple of more things I could like to do.

BEFORE

AFTER

It All Packs Into This

Almost everything comes off.

What I did

I screwed pieces of a 2x4 into the bottom so It would bee raised higher up for easier access.

I put aluminum bars across the tankwell to hold up my crate higher for better access and to keep it more dry.

I cut the crate for easy access and put a  3rod/net/light holder on the  back of the crate.  I also installed two scotty's on the back.

The Crate is bungeed in place.

In my crate is 3 tackle boxes, a case for my camera and phone, a dry bag for my itouch, and my dumbell anchor.
http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm266/redskinsfan360/029.jpg

The anchor is a 5lb weight that can be tied off on to a cleat.  I installed a cleat on both sides of the yak.

In the front I mounted a GPS mount and a rod holder.

In the front hatch I have a dry bag with spare clothes and first aid and safety stuff.

Rod Leash

The yak is ready to fish although I still need to order my safety stuff (flares, whistle, compass, etc.).

I eventually am going to get a VHF radio, cart, depthfinder, and visipole.

Can't wait to get it out fishing!!!!

Wow, you are all ready to go! I have been delinquent in my safety equipment and ditch bag. I need to get flares, vhf, and make a ditch bag to go in the front. I have pdf, whistle, and 360 light/home-made visipole.

Where are you planning to do most of your fishing?

Over breaks ans summers I will be fishing the potomac and Beaverdam reservoir, and other areas around here.  While I am at school I will be fishing reservoirs, parts of the Cheasapeake, James river Bridege, Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, and the Chick.

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Nicely done...should allow for some valuable study break opportunities to clear your head and fill your livewell!

Nice work you did on that kayak! WTG...

Sounds like you're going to school in the Richmond or Tidewater areas. If you haven't already check out these forums:
