Goose Creek 7/11

Fished the mouth of goose creek with my daughter.  She outfished me 12-to-2 using various colors Rebel wee craw lures.  Some of the blue gills were good sizes.  She did lose a couple of lures on the same branch of a tree :-)

I caught the largest SM using t-rig worm and lost another good sized SM on its first jump and threw off the minnow crank bait.  Upstream of goose creek is still very low and the rain didn't seem to help, she caught 2 tiny BG there.

Just out of curiosity, how often do you guys change lures...deciding that a certain color or types of lure isn't working in an area?

Re: Goose Creek 7/11

When shore fishing, I don't change lures a lot simply because I don't carry a lot of gear with me. I will typically know what the water color is and what I am fishing for and I will bring a small collection of reliable baits.

However, when on a boat, I am sometime maniacal about changing lures when the fish aren't biting. I can bring a lot more gear and this gives me a wider range of options.

Nice smallies!

Nice....I like the BG on the ground with the craw in his mouth.....

And I am with Coz....sometimes I will use a lure until it is shredded and sometimes I switch out all the time....confidence is a big part of it.

Time to go fishin' again!

Re: Goose Creek 7/11

BTW - I need to get out to the mouth of Goose Creek to do some fishing. I typically fish further south (sounds weird to say) by Rt. 7 and Riverside Parkway.
