Saturday June 26

I'm thinking a very early (sunrise is at 0546) yak trip....local....in and out of the same place. The possibilities are (but not limited to):

Ashburn Lake
Kephart
Algonkian
BDR
POR
Lander

Have an extra yak available at the ususal rate...home by noon!

Re: Saturday June 26

I'm meeting some guys @ 301 bridge this afternoon. If anything good happens I might try to add a "not quite local" spot to your list. OR I might be helping to move our 28 yr old son out of the nest. That trumps all else.

I may be very interested if my drive system is fixed by then. I had a lil mishap on the new river.

I am interested. Though I probably can't get there (Ernie's house) until a 615-630am. I'll go anywhere. Yak me in!

I was planning to be at BDR unless someone was willing to lead me to some snakeheads.  I have an available sit-in yak too.

Not adding to your list today. Three of us fished the whole VA end of the bridge from shore to where it starts up away  from the water. I stuck with artificials all evening trying for some stripers (didn't happen). Luckily I took an ultra lite along with beetle spins so I wouldn't get skunked. That payed off with a few nice perch. The other two switched to bait pretty quick and did well with perch and cats. We never got deep enough for croakers. It was a fun trip, but as a perch spot this is no Spa Creek. We had an outgoing tide the whole time and it was really rolling the further we got from shore. Almost made me wish I had a Hoby, but I came to my senses and headed back toward shore to try some topwater.

On a side note, there were schools of peanut bunker as far as YOu could see in all directions. That has to be a good thing.

Re: Saturday June 26

I would prefer a lake since we are doing a river float on the 5th, but I am at your whim Ernie.

BTW - trying to get to your place by a certain time was to be able to assist in loading the gear.

1. BDR? Ashburn?

2. If it's just the yaks, no sweat!

BDR may be more interesting if we get a larger group. I am willing to do either.

Re: Saturday June 26

i would like to try the kayak deal, but my posterior may exceed the width restriction of the vessel.
-nothing has fit me my whole life, and it is not getting any better.
when i was nine i wore an adult football  helmet. we had to shave padding out of it, and it still hurt like the devil.

I dont know any fisherman that wouldn't fit a hobie pro angler. if you're fit enough to move and fish, you can fit in a pro angler. I belive the weight limit is 500lbs.
