Rotten Herring in the boat.......found a week later

Couple of days after fishing with Coz, I could smell fish in the garage (where the boat is kept) sad .  Thought I had tracked it down to the cutting board smile .  Yesterday the smell was a little stronger tongue .  Looked around and found NADA.  Got home this afternoon and the 85+ degree day took its toll.  Lots of flies buzzing around outside the garage door..........bad sign.  Opened the garage door and the odor just about knocked me down.  Looked all over for a piece of cut bait that probably fell in a nook somewhere last Friday.  Finally picked up the 2-qt cooler and opened it..........2 well seasoned herring and front half of another that was left over from cutting bait roll .  That cooler is ruined.  Garage is finally airing out.
