Fishing the Susky with Dave Shindler

Smallmouth Bass fishing on the Susquehanna River with Dave Shindler!

His full day rate is $400 for 3 people and that is for a FULL day of smallie/walleye fishing.

Anyone intereted in joining me in the next month or so? We can figure out the date later but I would like to know if there is interest.

Fly fishing or "regular" fishing?

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Re: Fishing the Susky with Dave Shindler

Ernie - In your note above, you mentioned the boat would hold 3 folks (not including yourself) plus the guide. Thus, as the organizer, and since I am last on the list, it would be natural to bump me. I am okay either way, but please keep me in the loop.

I'd be interested depending on date as well. Put me down as an alternate.

Re: Fishing the Susky with Dave Shindler

Let me know what day it is so I can be sick that day or free up that weekend. The only weekend I have plans for at the moment is the weekend of the 15th.

do you think this will be on a weekday or weekend?

Re: Fishing the Susky with Dave Shindler

OK....these dates are not in June but we have to start somewhere. May 29 or 31?

Yes, it's Memorial Day weekend but Dave says he can easily get away from the crowds in the rocks!

June 11 & 12 are alos open but Dave likes May better.

Re: Fishing the Susky with Dave Shindler

We are booked for May 31....details later.

Crew: Ernie, Curly and Andrew.

I will most likely want to go again, maybe in summer or fall.

That crew will be Patrick and Paul if they want in on the deal.

Ernie

So where exactly on the Susky?  Solid 2.5 hr drive to Harrisburg.  What time do we meet him?  Looks like we should get our non-resident permits on-line before we go.

No clue yet....wherever the Hot Bite is....he fishes all over that river. Last time I went, we put in near York

PA is outrageous! I paid $50 a few years ago!

Which way do you guys take to Harrisburg? 270 to Rt. 15?

It is outrageous....fishing!

Rt. 15 is the preferred way but where you go depends on where you fish....that's a BIG river!

Re: Fishing the Susky with Dave Shindler

Hi guys,

Can't wait to meet you and to see Ernie again. The area I fish depends on where I find the best bite at the time. This past two weeks I have fished from York Haven all the way to Selingsgrove (well above Harrisburg) I will go where ever I have to to find the best bite. You can buy a 3 day license before you come from the PA fish commission website. (I believe they are 26 dollars) I've been suggesting they raise our guide license fees so my clients don't need license but it falls on deaf ears.

I would wait till right before the trip though just in case mother nature throws a big curve and we get 10" of rain. Although if that happens we could have a great Flathead Catfish bite if you are game for that one.

If others want to go I do have another guide who works for me who is very good. He can handle 2 anglers in his boat (18' G3 Jet)

Anyway look forward to seeing you all then and I'll keep you posted on what is happening.

Dave

wow, all the way to Selinsgrove! You cover quite an area! I've only been up that far once (to the Shamokin Dam) but it looks very fishy.

Dave, are the rates the same for the other guide? I may let one of the other guys in on my seat on your boat and book with the other guide so my girlfriend can come a long. Please let me know.
