this week in baseball

I fished the bank of Lake Ashburn in the rain on tuesday.

I was pitching a J&P. I got my 1st bite off an isolated branch.
I set the hook and had a nice 2 or 3 #'r. but it was hung on the wood.
I tried to horse it onto the bank as it was coming, but my line popped and away she went. 2 hrs later, and identical looking bass jumped completely out of the water, twice, right in front of me- about 20' off shore.
Methinks it was the same, trying to throw that jig.

I caught other assorted bass, none big, but regular enough hits to keep me entertained.

I have done ok there lately w/ the 1-minus also. burn it, pause, repeat

went over to cedar, where i had wall to wall nothing going on.
not enough shore veggies yet for cover, fish deep? but not chewing much

been a lackluster couple weeks 4 me

sounds like you need to try some new waters! we've been catching them consistently inside/near the beltway ever since the big rain

At least you are not bragging about it Dan! haha j/k

Ashburn has been generally sluggish this year, but that is okay. It just makes us work harder.

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Lol, I certainly don't mean to brag. All I mean is that if the water you are fishing has been really tough....FISH DIFFERENT WATER! The river has warmed up VERY quickly and lots of fish are being caught.

I don't think Jeffie's "boat" would be worthy of a trip to the river.....just sayin'!

Re: this week in baseball

well i only have short windows to fish on odd days.

i usually fish lovettsville because it is near work

it is a farm pond about the size of beach

the only hits i am getting are shorties parallel to the bank, throwing a 1-minus

i havnt had the boat out for a few weeks, as my truck has a dead inspection and i dont want to be conspicuous

times is rough- i work for less than 1/2 of what i did 2 yrs ago
i squeeze all my money, and cant be driving too much

it is nice to see others fishing well. I miss Andy

I may have the opportunity to head out your way on the 24th. Wanna try to get together for some afternoon fishing?
