DC Striper Report 6-13-08 (Friday the 13th)

OK, it is Friday the 13th and I decided to fish for stripers anyway.  Got to the ramp at 5:30 am and no other trailers or boats around.  Headed up towards the Fletchers area and was fishing by 6:05 with cut herring.  After several cats and one throw-back striper, I moved up above Chain Bridge for colder and faster current.   Not much bait up there either  sad, but did manage another striper (17") and more kitties.  The water definately felt warm to the touch and most of the stripers have now moved from that area.  It was good while it lasted.  They will be downriver from the Fletchers area until next spring.

Trolled a little bit on the way back..............NADA.  Got to the ramp and still no boat trailers (Friday  13th).  As I was pulling from the lot, in came a hoard of jet-skis on trailers.  I couldn't have timed it better.  big_smile

Oh yeah, bought my first gas at over $4/gallon ($4.03) today for the boat.  Ouch.  Good thing I only used 3.5 gallons in 5 hours of fishing!  big_smile

Off to Alaska next Friday.  smile
