Beaverdam Creek Reservoir - 3/20 Morning

I was out there last Saturday mainly to go looking for the little dock, but it was where it belongs when I got there, so I went fishing.  Got skunked though.  Water was around 50F on the church side and a few degrees cooler near the dam. This week it should warm up nicely.

I'm going out there first thing in the morning. I have an extra kayak and life vest.  I'm still working on getting another paddle.  Anybody want to come along?

Anybody game for Sunday? I've got some good waypoints for that place on my GPS.

Ernie, you mind if I borrow a yak? I will gladly provide a full report with pics in return for the generosity... smile

No luck today finding the paddle I've been looking for.  I'll take you up on that offer Ernie.  I'll be over that way in a little while.  Since I'll be on my motorcycle, if it's a two-piece I could probably grab it today.  Otherwise I'll have to come by with my truck one of the next two days.

Re: Beaverdam Creek Reservoir - 3/20 Morning

Looks like I can't make it this Sunday, best of luck to you guys tho. Like Dan said, most of the smallies are down near the dam. Fish the mouth of that creek and the corner across from it on the other side of the dam, near where the water tower/ladder thing sticks up. I've gotten into schools of 2 and 3lb brozebacks over there. If it's not on, check the back of the creek where it splits. Good luck doods!!

OK

I'm planning to put in by the church around sunrise.

Ernie, I made it by your place about 7:30.  I guess I missed you. ???  When is a good time tomorrow afternoon/evening.  It is a single piece or does it come apart?

I found a decent topo map and added color shading.

Re: Beaverdam Creek Reservoir - 3/20 Morning

Found this post on another board.  Pretty sure it was Beaver Dam........I've had excelent results this time of year there with a jerk bait...........

"Fished from 2pm till 6pm. Water temps ranged from 51 to 47. Expected the fish to be active and only had 2 bites on jerkbaits with long pauses. Landed one almost 5lbs, it had the jerkbait deep in it's throat. Did not mark any baitfish or anything all day so I beat the banks and tried a few deep holes. The 2 bites I had were off of a fast sloping bank in about 9ft of water."

Re: Beaverdam Creek Reservoir - 3/20 Morning

I wasn't seeing anything that looked like fish last weekend either.  Did see some odd stuff on the screen though.
Sounds like my X-rap will be a good choice.  I'm thinking a deep diving Bomber A too.

Handed off the paddle to T this afternoon. Took it home in his motorcycle....he definitely got some looks from the folks in the 'hood...looked like this bike sprouted wings!

I think I discovered the way to get people to notice motorcycles better than they do.  I definitely noticed people looking at me more than usual.
