3-7-10, Occoquan River

Yesterday Mo and I went back to try for yellow perch. Since Mo had not had a "dream", we simply went back to the pier that had produced so well less than two weeks ago. On the way to the pier we saw four or five boats jigging in the center of the river. The only fish we saw being caught were mostly dinks.

We tied up at the pier and began jigging.....nada. We moved from pier to pier with the same results. More boats joined the group in the center of the river. Shortly, we saw the game wardens, going from boat to boat, checking paper work. When they got to us, and saw how poorly we were doing, they told us to join the group in the middle of the river. One boat crew had told the warden that they had caught sixty-seven!

We unhooked from the pier and joined the group. After catching twenty, the steady wind in our face told us to move upstream in hopes of finding fish in less wind. This time I told Mo to "pick a spot". He took us to the middle of the river; we dropped anchor and proceeded to catch fifty-one additional fish! We accomplished this without the bennefit of a "Mo Dream! Almost all the fish were released because they were small males.

The final tally of seventy-one included: one striper approximately fourteen inches (Mo); one three inch white perch(me); three sunfish; sixty-six yellow perch. We fished from about twelve o'clock until three.

We are really anxious to see the return of the white perch!

Mo is the lucky ticket....I am convinced. Throw everything else we know out the window and just continue take Mo with you. He's a 1st Class guy anyway.....

The forecast for the days up to the 15th looks pretty good so far, if that really means anything...hopefully it will stay that way and we can fit in as many trips as possible.

It was an awesome day, as Carl said it was just a bit windy.  I don't think Carl and I could feel our nose towards the end.  one of the guys there said that he thinks the yp should be coming in next week.  We got to get the wall hanger for Carl.  Can't wait to the wp's to come in again, counting down the days.

I heard a rumor that anyone who brings a banana on a boat with Curly gets stuck in the fish cooler for the remainder of the trip....

If it were easy, they'd call it catching!

Did Carl really upload a picture or did someone hack his account?! I guess he's not as bad with technology as he thought he was!

Hahaha, I was wondering if someone would notice that a picture was posted from Carl's account. I posted it this morning from Carl's house before we left to go fishing today.

I hope you all caught a few!!

I was at Mo's place this afternoon getting the body tuned up and he was salivating about getting out on the water tomorrow. He's hoping for another dream tonight!
