What should I throw?

I am still trying to get my first fish of 2010 on the ponds.  I have thrown the carolina rig, pig and jig, and lipless crankbaits.  Any ideas?

Re: What should I throw?

I'm having a lot of luck on drop shots but that might just be the water i'm fishing. Maybe slow down your retrieve and presentation? I hear of guys having luck slow rolling spinnerbaits. Might want to give that a try.

Re: What should I throw?

for me a small, crappie- type jig, thrown on 4# line, is my best cold water bait. I have done well w/ 3" senkos also, on a small worm hook, fished weightless and slow.

i caught fish in cedar early last march like this, as well as in other ponds.
for me, 4# line is plenty on a light rod and a very soft drag.
a big fish can break it, but i have learned to adjust.

experience has shown me i can catch just about anything in the water like this, making good fun out of panfish, and a real challenge and accomplishment out of lunker bass
