Food Plots

Has anyone ever done a food plot for hunting? VA power put powerlines through the back part of the property I hunt and I would really like to plant clover or someother low effort forage on that power line. Looking at the VDGIF website they actually encourage it (I guess VA power doesn't care as long as the trees don't touch the lines).  Can I just throw the clover seed into my scotts speedy green broadcast spreader this spring and call it a day or does it need a little more love than that to grow.

Re: Food Plots

I have planted clover and also rye for deer; both are very effective. If you go to any Southern States, they will give you a brochure on game cover that applies to deer, rabbit, turkey and quail. Some feed plots are perrenial.
